Why one team

Most offices deal with an IT company, a cabling contractor, a camera installer and a phone vendor who never talk to each other. When the cameras drop off the network, each one points at the next.

  • One plan. The network, the cabling, the cameras, the doors and Microsoft 365 are designed together, so every device lands on the right network with the right protection.
  • One accountable team. The engineers who install your systems are the same people who support them, so nobody has to rediscover how your office was built.
  • Everything documented. Port maps, network diagrams, accounts and settings are written down and handed over, so anyone on your side can see how the office is built.

Most IT problems and security incidents share one root cause: systems that were never built to a clear plan.

Our method: Connect, Secure, Empower

  1. Connect

Build the foundation: network and Wi-Fi designed for the space and the devices in it, structured cabling that is labeled and ready to grow, and reliable connections for phones, printers, point of sale and cameras.

  2. Secure

Add protection in layers, not one product: email and identity hardening against phishing, a firewall and segmented network at the edge, patched and protected devices, and backups that have actually been restored.

  3. Empower

Keep it working: monitoring and patching, a help desk that knows your environment, secure remote access, and regular reviews of what should change next. The result is fewer surprises and fewer emergencies.

Common questions

Are you an IT company or a cybersecurity company?

Both. DistrictConnects is a security-first IT company: we run the help desk, Microsoft 365, the network and the building systems, and every one of them is set up with security in mind from the start. That means MFA, a managed firewall, protected devices and tested backups are part of the normal service, not an extra you have to ask for.

What does Connect, Secure, Empower mean in practice?

It is the order we work in. Connect is the foundation: network, Wi-Fi, cabling and internet. Secure is the protection on top: email and identity, firewall and segmentation, devices and backups. Empower is the ongoing part: monitoring, patching, support and regular reviews, so the environment stays reliable after the project is finished.

Which areas do you serve?

We are based in Herndon and work on-site across Northern Virginia, including Reston, Ashburn, Sterling, Chantilly, Fairfax, Tysons, McLean, Arlington, Alexandria and Leesburg, plus Washington DC and Montgomery County, Maryland. Remote support covers every client wherever they are.

Can you help if we already have an IT provider?

In many cases, yes. Many clients come to us for a second opinion. We start with a free assessment of your Microsoft 365, network, devices and backups, and give you a plain-English list of gaps ranked by risk. You decide what happens next: fix specific items, or move your support to us.

Are you licensed to install cameras and access control?

Yes. DistrictConnects is a Virginia DCJS licensed electronic security provider, licensed and bonded, and every technician meets DCJS training requirements. License number available to clients on request.

Do you work with homes as well as businesses?

Yes. Most of our work is for businesses, but we also handle residential projects: Wi-Fi and networking, structured cabling, cameras and audio, designed and installed with the same standards and documentation as our commercial work.
